2024 Town of Sheldon Paving Projects

The Town of Sheldon announces that Pike Industries, Inc. has been contracted to resurface approximately 4 miles of town highway, in cooperation with the Town of Sheldon Highway Department, who will perform all other required work in the project areas.

This year’s major project will be to resurface two segments of East Sheldon Road, totaling approximately 1.8 miles of roadway. This project will be funded by a Class II Town Highway Paving Grant in the amount of $191,960 awarded to the Town of Sheldon by the VT Agency of Transportation. To complete this project, the Town will contribute matching funds totaling 20% of the grant amount from its 2024 paving budget.

The remainder of the Town’s 2024 paving budget funds will be used to resurface portions of Rice Hill Road, Shawville Road and Mill Street, and fully resurface High Street and Church Street.

A map of road segments that will be paved is available at sheldonvt.com/highway.

Paving schedule:   June 28– July 5 (weather depending)

Travelers are warned to observe and follow signs and flagging in the work area to ensure the safety of all. No work will be performed on Independence Day (July 4th). Should weather extend paving schedule, the town will issue further notices as needed.
